Though we do have an organ at our chapels at Feelings From the Heart, we also have a CD player that you can use for music of your choice. If you’re having your wedding at a location of your choosing, there are lots of options for music – CD players, professional DJ or musicians like quartets or a band.

While you don’t have to have music during your wedding ceremony, it offers a nice accompaniment to the processional, signing of the registrar and recessional. It’s also another aspect of the ceremony that you can personalize to your style and relationship. You don’t have to use traditional hymns or classical music but could use favourite love songs or movie anthems that are near to your heart.

There is of course the always popular Pachelbel’s Canon for the processional, but we’ve also seen things like theme songs from Disney movies or musicals. Or, if you want a cultural element you could include steel drums for a beach wedding or bagpipes for a Scottish affair.

Sometimes it’s nice to have a song with lyrics instead of just instrumental for the signing of the registrar as it offers some entertainment for guests while you’re taking care of the legalities. Whether this means a song from a CD or an actual vocalist, just be sure to pick something meaningful.
