Don’t forget the guests
Brides are usually more focused on the wedding reception than the ceremony, ensuring that their guests are well fed,
watered and entertained. But they sometimes leave the ceremony until the last minute and think that a program is all that’s needed for guests. On the contrary, if you’re planning an outdoor wedding ceremony, there are many factors to consider to ensure that your guests are comfortable.
Chances are, if you’re planning an outdoor ceremony and Mother Nature doesn’t rain on your parade, that means it’s likely going to be hot. If the ceremony site doesn’t have its own shade, you may consider offering some for your guests. This could mean renting some sort of gazebo or awning, or even purchasing inexpensive umbrellas and giving them to guests as they take their seats. Umbrellas can also come in handy if the threat of rain is hanging over the ceremony.
Handheld fans may also help guests stay cool during the ceremony and be sure to offer cold beverages (even if it’s just water) to keep guests hydrated.
If the ground is soggy, female guests’ heels may sink in, so you might want to offer SoleMates™ heel protectors or inexpensive flat sandals. You may also want to have an aisle runner or some sort of ground covering to keep guests’ shoes clean and dry.
We know it’s your day, but don’t forget about the people you love who are there to celebrate it with you.
