Get married away
Destination weddings are popular now more than ever, but the legalities involved are not as simple as here in Ontario and vary from country to country. If you’re planning a wedding abroad, be sure to do your research on what you need to know before the ceremony so your ceremony isn’t ruined and your marriage is actually legal. Destination wedding planners and travel agents are often good sources to zone in on the info you need instead of spending countless hours sifting through tons of info.
For instance, some countries require that you be in the country for at least 72 hours before you can be married. Others require you to take a blood test and present your birth certificates.
To avoid delays and complications, some couples will do a private civil ceremony at home before taking off to ensure that the marriage is legal and everything is done properly. Then, the wedding in the destination of their choice would simply be symbolic and a way that they could share it with family and friends.
If you want to do a pre-destination wedding ceremony, Feelings From the Heart has a special price for weddings from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. For $200 plus tax you and your fiancé can get married with four guests present in one of our chapels. This way, there’s no hassle when you’re away and you can just enjoy your destination wedding.
